Universal Packaging Donates to Salvation Army Food Bank

Universal Packaging is committed to giving back to our local community and donating to charitable organizations that support it.

Each month, Universal Packaging Teammates submit a charity or organization they feel passionate about. Once all the submissions are in, the entire team votes and the charitable organization with the most votes is presented with a financial donation.

This month the team chose the Vernon BC, “House of Hope”, Salvation Army Food bank.

According to their mandate:

The Salvation Army in Vernon BC runs the House of Hope Food Bank, which is called “The House of Hope” because the staff there work every day to restore a sense of hope and dignity for all who enter their doors.

The House of Hope has been contributing to Vernon’s social fabric for over 25 years. Over 1100 people are being assisted through the Food Bank’s programs each month. About 32% of those we assist are youth and children under the age of 18 years. Each of these needy persons would have gone hungry without the generous support and kindness of the Vernon community.

The House of Hope is located at 3303 32 Ave Vernon downtown off the highway just behind Staples. If you or anyone you know needs help, please call (250) 549-4111 or visit us to make an appointment to see an intake worker.”
